The management of the Wells Fargo Center downtown had told tenants the building could reopen in "the coming days." The building has been closed since Hurricane Irma flooded its basement parking garage, where much of the communication and mechanical equipment is.

An email sent Friday to tenants did not give a specific timeline, but said access would be restricted at first.

"We plan on providing limited early access, date to be determined, to IT and essential personnel for the purpose of inspecting, verifying and confirming that your internal business systems are operational," the email said. "Limited access is due to ongoing restoration processes and the removal of large equipment, trucks, and related machinery."

The parking garage is still closed and tenants who park there are being instructed to park at the Jax Center garage on Bay Street.

The building's management has not responded to the Times-Union's requests for more information. …
