Jackson Wins Selection for Second World Challenge

IT'S official: Stacey Jackson is about to race around the world again when seven teams hit the start line in two weeks for the 2017-18 Volvo Ocean Race.

Jackson's appointment to the Vestas 11th Hour Racing team was ratified earlier this week after several weeks of whispers as to whether her dash to Portugal after the end of August's Hamilton Island Race Week would eventuate to her achieving her dream of a second chance at a Volvo race victory. The 34-year-old was a member of Team SCA all-female crew for the 2014-15 race.

Since then, she has captained the 66-foot Australian yacht Alive for several major regattas and races, but it was always in her mind to seek another chance at the Volvo race.

Jackson mused at the end of the last race, "Personally, though, it's hard to say I'm satisfied".

"There's so much more to learn. You learn from each leg. I'd love to do it again,'' she said.

Jackson joins an international and mixed crew led by US skipper Charlie Enright. …
