HI folks, so here we are in October and it really feels autumnal now. I hope you are making the most of the sunny spells amid the windy weather.

We enjoyed a lovely two-hour walk along the coast on Sunday as part of our ongoing training walks for our Kerala trek next year.

It was great to see so many people surfing and walking along the beach at Tynemouth - what a fabulous place to live.

We still have a few spaces left for our Indian trek next year, where the scenery looks amazing. You will meet elephants, spend a night on a house boat and learn to guide blind people.

Rebecca and I had a lovely night at Disney on Ice on Tuesday with a couple of our lovely families, who got to meet the characters and watch the fabulous show.

We were so well looked after, thank you so much to The Metro Radio Arena staff and to Lyn Spencer of White Hot Communications for organising the visit.

The families had an amazing time - it was lovely to see the children so excited, and the grown-ups too! It brought back super memories of when my children were little.

IT'S been all about the festive season in the office this week as we officially launch our Christmas appeal. We are so excited to be raising money for the fabulous Hadrian School, who are doing tremendous work with disabled children from across the North East.

We are not only hoping to buy equipment for their new rebound therapy centre, which will help the children's mobility and confidence, but they have also asked the children what they want to do in their playtimes and we are hoping to buy a lot of individual items such as musical wall panels, giant chalk boards and roundabouts that will allow children of all abilities to play together.

We are so excited and determined to make sure we raise the PS30,000 needed to buy all of this equipment and we are working flat out to come up with ideas to raise this money.

We will be having a Christmas Jumper day on Friday, December 15, when we hope everyone in the North East will wear their best seasonal wear and donate to the appeal. …
