Glynn County Lawyer Gets Bond in an Aggravated Stalking Case

BRUNSWICK, GA. | A St. Simons Island lawyer jailed since Sept. 19 on aggravated stalking charges was given a $10,000 bail Thursday.

Vince D. Sowerby shambled into Glynn County Chief Magistrate Alex Atwood's court for a bail hearing Thursday afternoon with his handcuffed wrists chained to ankle shackles.

Assistant District Attorney Katie Gropper announced that Sowerby's estranged wife, Lisa Sowerby, who he was a accused of grabbing by the throat in July, had agreed to his release on bail.

Atwood first received assurances that Lisa Sowerby was not concerned about her physical safety.

Atwood accepted a mutual consent bond agreement and added a number of conditions including that Sowerby have no contact with his wife, that he not drink and that he not have any firearms.

Lisa Sowerby and her son both told Glynn County police her husband had been drinking when he became enraged July 30 after she took a bite of her son's macaroni and cheese while she was on a diet. …
