The meet will also have clubs from beyond Gladstone, including a foreign country which will have eight swimmers.

Carabeae Swimming Academy, Fairymead, Emu Park, Biloela, Blackwater and Crescent Lagoon Swimming clubs will also make up the collective 183 swimmers.

"The Czech Republic are going to be racing and the quality should be a little bit better than usual, so we'll see how we go," Fronek said.

"It is a step in the preparation for the peak of the season and for people who will swim in the states.

"This is the first step for them and they will have a couple of meets before then as well."

SWIMMING: Four Gladstone swimming clubs will be well represented in today's Liquid Energy Swim Meet from 9am at the Gladstone Gladiators Swimming Club.

The host club will have the most junior swimmers with 57, while Boyne Bullets will field 30 and the port city's newest club Gladstone Souths will be represented by 25 athletes. …
