Winter Is Coming and So Is Castle's Game of Thrones Style Wedding; ORGANISERS SAY HISTORIC SITE OFFERS THE PERFECT BACKDROP

GAME of Thrones fans can indulge their obsession with a wedding ceremony based on the hit TV show.

Langley Castle near Hexham has launched a wedding package inspired by the popular series based in Westeros.

Brides can dress up in medieval maiden dresses while grooms can don a selection of warrior costumes including a sword.

Organisers say the ceremony could include lines from the show including: "I am hers and she is mine. From this day until the end of my days."

Other aspects from the five weddings which have taken place in the show and novels can be incorporated.

Langley's general manager, Eric Kortenbach, says: "To coin a phrase, 'winter is coming' and with it a brand new conceptual wedding at Langley Castle, which will sit alongside traditional fairytale weddings.

"When we looked at Langley's incredible, historic interior, its battlements and its grounds, and compared these to scenes from A Game of Thrones, we realised there could not be a better place in which to create a Northern Kingdom experience.

"Langley has been on the landscape since 1350 and provides the perfect backdrop for this bespoke wedding option. It also just happens to be in the very location that inspired author George R. R. Martin. What more could avid viewers of this mega-series desire?" Couples will be offered a range of options from which to build their bespoke Northern Kingdom wedding, from delivery of the wedding ring by hawk and dramatic dragon-themed wedding cakes, to arrival on horseback and candles dancing on a medievalthemed banqueting table. …
