RECENTLY I went to get a coffee from a cafAaAaAeAa[c] that opens up on to busy street.

As part of their "ambience" they had speakers playing music very loudly. Not family-friendly stuff like a bit of Fleetwood Mac, but hardcore rap music, and I don't need to tell you that it was R-rated. Mother this, mother that, bitch this, bitch that, ho this, ho that.

I suggested to the cafAaAaAeAa[c] owner that maybe that wasn't appropriate wh there are kids walking past constantly and I didn't really appreciate having my ears blasted with such trash at 7am. I told him there's plenty of music out there to choose from that's more appropriate.

He looked at me as if I was from another planet. Needless to say, I've never been back. There's lots of other choices for good coffee.

When did it become acceptable to force people to listen to your bad choices of music? …
