ROCKHAMPTON has sought to find its place in the current competitive world -- for some years our leaders have sought to establish this city as top of mind of our fellow Australians.

Seeking to build a strong business community and destination, thereby establishing Rockhampton as the "go to" place for all Central Queensland.

At midday last Monday, Rockhampton became a central figure in the state, adding much-needed interest to another state election.

For voters, changing government is becoming all too easy. Our tolerance for inaction and empty rhetoric is very low, our world is competitive and forever changing.

Our politicians are graced with three-year terms and they believe that this time is not long enough to make a difference.

In the real world, time is a commodity that we have less of -- three years to make a difference, six months would be the considered norm.

I believe myself to be a man who would fit into the average category and, it is with this wisdom or lack of, that I have decided to place my request for the next sitting MP for the state seat of Rockhampton. …
