Arnold, Aloisi Say They Are Not the New Ange

JOHN Aloisi and Graham Arnold say their focus is on their clubs, Brisbane Roar and Sydney FC, after both were mentioned as possible candidates to replace Ange Postecoglou as Socceroos coach.

The Roar and Sydney go head to head at Allianz Stadium tonight with Sydney looking to take the A-League top spot back from Newcastle Jets who defeated 10-man Melbourne Victory 4-1.

Current and former players have called on Arnold to get the Socceroos job, with Aloisi also saying the next man to take the role should be a local.

Aloisi said he would be interested to see what Football Federation Australia bosses had to say but he had his eyes set on the Roar.

"If I get a call from the national team, of course you're going to take it and talk to them," Aloisi told reporters in Brisbane.

"At the moment that's not even a reality because I haven't got a call and my focus is on Brisbane Roar.

"I can talk until the cows come home (about) what I believe they should do, in terms of sticking with an Aussie coach. …
