I'll Be Ready If Game Door Opens: Training Partner

NETBALL: After striving on the state and inter-state scene, Stephanie O'Brien says it's a "dream come true" to become a training partner at the Sunshine Coast Lightning, adding she will be primed to play if called upon.

The 24-year-old was invited to join the Super Netball reigning champions after forging her way through the ranks.

A former state representative at under-17 and under-21 levels, she has been captain of the Brisbane West Lions in the Queensland league and has been part of the Queensland Fusion in the Australian Netball League.

Now, she's linked with elite outfit Lightning and is savouring it.

"It's kind of a dream come true. The step up is an opportunity that I may not have thought was ever going to come my way," she said.

"But it's happened and I'm so excited to be here."

"That opportunity to train under Noels (Noeline Taurua) and Kyles (Kylee Byrne) is one of the best opportunities I've ever had."
