UNITINGCARE Queensland Child and Family Services has celebrated the relocation of its Gympie office and expanded services with an official opening at its new site at 39 Barter St.

UCQ Child and Family Services, which has been operating in Excelsior Rd for more than 10 years, made the move to expand its service offerings and provide a community hub for Gympie.

The celebration saw the Gubbi Gubbi Dancers perform and local elder Aunty Lillian provide the Welcome to Country while Gympie Regional Councillor Dan Stewart cut the ribbon to open the new site.

UCQ Group Executive of Child and Family Brent McCracken said the move was a reflection of its commitment to Gympie to offer services that met community needs.

"We've been operating and engaging with this community for over 10 years, and it's a community we have really enjoyed being a part of," Mr McCracken said.

"We are excited to expand and improve our service offerings in a location that is more central and where we can provide space for group work and community events. …
