Day off Is Cancelled by Furious Boro Boss

FURIOUS Garry Monk cancelled a scheduled day off for his squad as he looks to right the wrongs of recent displays and get Boro's stuttering season back on track.

Boro's players were initially given two days off following the Bristol City game and were due to report back to Rockliffe this morning.

However, the seething boss altered those plans after Saturday night's dismal defeat.

Some players still opted to stay down south after the game but were told to return to the training ground yesterday, with an indepth inquest on the agenda. Monk was visibly furious in a short post-match press conference on Saturday night in which he called the 2-1 defeat 'unacceptable' whilst also apologising to the travelling supporters.

Two players - Darren Randolph and Rudy Gestede - tweeted their reaction, with the keeper looking ahead to a "big week of training to put things right".

Gestede, meanwhile, said: "We must do better and concentrate on getting back on track on Saturday. …
