Grads Bid Farewell; Widgee School Awards Night

WIDGEE State School's annual awards night was held last Thursday, in the local Memorial Hall.

Performances by each class were extraordinary with Preppies to Year 2 re-enacting the story of The Four Dragons, Years 3 to 4 told the tale of Tikki Tikki Tembo and the senior classes, Years 5 and 6 sang and danced their way through Lanterns by Birds of Tokyo and School's Out by Alice Cooper.

The students put on a marvellous show, celebrating all the achievements made this year at Widgee State School.

Numerous awards sponsored by the community and a number of residents were presented during the evening.

These awards are specifically designed to acknowledge the success of our Widgee students across very diverse areas of curriculum and were accepted by some very delighted recipients.

The school farewelled their Year 6 students with the audience enjoying a slideshow of their years at Widgee State School.

Principal Matt Elson thanked everyone for attending and making the night such a wonderful occasion for the students and staff.

He also thanked the Widgee Community for their continued support over the past year.
