Streak Comes to an End; Norths Is Beaten by the Waves

CRICKET: All good things must come to and end.

For Norths it was their 25-match unbeaten run in Division 1 cricket in Bundaberg.

On Saturday the side was beaten for the first time in more than a year, falling to The Waves in the first match of the T20 competition by eight wickets.

A three-wicket haul by David Mulhall helped The Waves restrict Norths to just 96 from their 20 overs before an unbeaten 54 from Sean Stuchbery guided the side to the target with under five overs remaining.

The win over Norths completed a perfect weekend for The Waves, winning all three matches.

This included a 32-run win over Brothers on Friday night and a 41-run win over Past Highs Combined Country on Saturday.

"I'm one very happy captain," The Waves skipper Luke Owen said.

"We were very good as a bowling unit.

"Bundaberg has a history of good batting wickets so to bowl well was very pleasing."

The Waves kept the three sides to a combined average 114, the best out of the four sides over the weekend. …
