Coast Tradies Leave Site after Visit from Parking Inspector

SEVERAL tradesmen drove off early from a construction site after a parking inspector began to book workers for parking on the side of the road.

Aura estate tradesman Luke Muller was working on site at Caloundra on Monday and said about 10am a Sunshine Coast Council parking inspector showed up.

He said the inspector began to hand out fines to tradies who were parked on the side of the road.

"Where else are we meant to park?" he said.

"There were heaps of tradies before 10am, but after the inspector came there was just one car and a truck left on site.

"Do you think it's fair, right before Christmas, to say we can't park anywhere?

"It's an absolute sh-- fight... About $100 fine to park at the job you are working at.

"Why is the council trying to revenue raise, in an estate where there are hundreds of houses still being built and all of the tradesmen are leaving before midday because the council is coming in and f---ing everybody over? …
