Warwick without Community Xmas Lunch

FOR THE first time in years, Warwick will be without a Christmas lunch for the less fortunate members of the community.

A few months ago, the Goldspink family made the heart-breaking decision to turn their focus this year to more pressing family issues.

For the past two years the caring and generous family provided a lunch for the lonely and elderly members of the community.

Last year more than 70 members of the community gathered at the Cowboys clubhouse to enjoy some company and donated food on Christmas Day.

That occasion served as the only option for some members of the community and will be sorely missed in 2017.

In the lead-up to Christmas, The Salvation Army is taking a proactive approach to helping those less-fortunate at a vulnerable time of year.

Lt Zak Churchill said Christmas could be a challenging and lonely time for some.
