THEIR futures are secure and they can afford to relax, smile even, after the most stressful period of their lives.

When that nerve wracking wait for OP results ended in glee for five Coolum State High School students at the weekend.

With three OP1s and a pair of OP2s, it was the school's best year to date - a culmination of two years of knuckling down.

Kaelean Flynn, Alwyn Prinsloo and Zak Duggan all achieved the highest possible results while Kyah Martin and Rhianna Quarry gained OP2s.

All five students will take their high-flying results into the "real-world" ready for anything.

"I'd be lying if I didn't want some time off to relax and travel," Mr Flynn said.

"I plan to do a fine degree which has an OP1 requirement. It is pretty exclusive, limited to 50 people.

"So I'm hoping to get into that, but first gain some more experience in the outside world."

School captain, Mr Duggan plans to be a commercial pilot with a major airline. …
