FOR the second time in just five days, a home in Brunswick Village has been shot at.

Officers were called to Drysdale Court at around 8.30am on December 5 after an apparent shooting at some point during the night.

The house involved is just a few streets away from the scene of a shooting on Grey Street which triggered a major police operation last week.

Northumbria Police say they do not believe at this stage that the two incidents are connected. Nobody inside the property was hurt.

A force spokesperson said: "An investigation has been launched to establish the circumstances behind the incident and to identify those involved.

"However, it is not being linked to the incident on New Year's Eve where a firearm was discharged through a letterbox in the Brunswick area.

"Officers have been in the area of the incident today to carry out enquiries and reassure anyone who lives in the area who has any concerns. …
