Throws Impressive; Caterson Wins Two Medals to Finish the Year in Athletics

ATHLETICS: Ask Zac Caterson which of his throwing events is his best and he doesn't have an answer.

He enjoys javelin, discus and shot put and isn't wanting to specialise.

Last year, he won silver in shot put and discus and bronze in javelin in the state championships before going on to the nationals in Adelaide where he won bronze in under-16 shot put and was fifth in discus.

Caterson starred in athletics at Warwick West State School and Warwick State High School before moving to Brisbane Boys College in term 4 last year.

He wasn't allowed to compete in GPS athletics because he wasn't at BBC at the start of the year but was one of the support staff as the school won GPS athletics for the third time.

Caterson, 15, competed for his new school for the first time in December when he won a bronze medal with

the school team in the national school knockout competition. …
