CLARE Palmer set a women's record in this year's Pub to Pub run from the Golden Dog at Glenreagh to Corindi's Amble Inn.

Kept company early by Clint Rowlings who was not intending to run the full 29.5km, Palmer found herself on record pace and simply kept going, slicing almost a minute off the time Melissa Bulloch set in 2005 to record 2.07.55.

Next to finish was the first man, Phil Butler, in a commendable 2.16.41.

Jan Rooney was next to cross the finish in 2.23.28 well clear of Konrad Legge who held off the "Fast and Furious" team of Janie Mahoney, Julie McKenzie , Matt Greenaway and Stephanie Upston.

Third places went to Andrew McDonald for the men in 2.37.41 and Rachel Cleary for the women in 2.45.26.
