IN AN impressive display, a massive aircraft which is tasked to military operations all over the world will wow Sunshine Coast residents with a fly-over.

As part of the Hot91.1 Heritage Bank Fire in the Sky event at Cotton Tree, the Royal Australian Air Force's giant C-17A Globemaster III transport aircraft will conduct two fly-pasts at an altitude of 100m at 3pm.

With a wingspan of 52m and length of 53m, the Globemaster III will approach the park from the east before returning from the north.

Flight Lieutenant Cameron Rabbett, from No. 36 Squadron, will captain the aircraft which makes up a fleet of eight.

They have been used for delivering cargo and person- nel everywhere from ice runways in Antarctica to the heat of the Middle East.

"We invite everyone on the Sunshine Coast to have their cameras ready, as the Globe- master is an impressive sight at low level," Flt Lt Rabbett said. …
