Pulis Still Looking to Do More Deals before Deadline

THE arrival of Jack Harrison is unlikely to mark the end of Boro's January transfer business, with boss Tony Pulis still hopeful of bringing one more player in on loan ahead of tonight's deadline.

And Pulis will look to balance that out by offloading one or two players in the final hours of the window.

It looks set to be a busy final day for Boro as the manager continues to shape his squad without making major alterations.

He won't be making any permanent signings today but, if possible, will still look to bolster his ranks, with talks having taken place with Everton over the loan signing of Bosnian midfielder Mo Besic.

Pulis yesterday made a breakthrough in the window with the signing of Jack Harrison on loan from Manchester City. Harrison was in attendance at the Riverside last night for the 0-0 draw with Sheffield Wednesday, with Pulis revealing after the game that, if the half-season loan goes to plan, Boro will look to extend the deal into the 2018/19 season.

He did urge caution with Harrison, though, and before throwing the talented youngster into the thick of the action will first assess the 21-year-old's fitness, with the winger having arrived in the American off-season.

As Pulis boosted his attacking options with the arrival of Harrison, interested clubs continue to make contact with Boro over the availability of a number of players, with the manager hoping to trim his squad by one or two before tonight's deadline.

One of those likely to leave is Adlene Guedioura, who could be set for a deadline day reunion with Aitor Karanka at Nottingham Forest, a year to the day the Spaniard signed him at Boro.

The Algerian wasn't included in Boro's matchday squad last night and, if a deal can be agreed today, Guedioura could return to Forest, for whom he made more than 50 league appearances earlier in his career. …
