Girls Glad to Be Back in Coolaroo Colours

AUSTRALIAN RULES: Coolaroo Football Club is excited to welcome back its women's team this season.

After dropping out of the 2016 season and being ruled out of last year's competition, the new-look team is itching to get back on the field.

"It's a big thing for the club and we're really keen to be back," women's coach Ben Adams said.

"It's great for our members and is a huge boost for volunteers."

The team got stuck into pre-season training last week.

Adams' focus is to get the team back and enjoying the game again.

"We'll be looking at the fundamental skills of the game and basic game plans, things like that," he said.

"As we know Tigers have been very strong for several seasons so to think we're going to come in and knock them off their perch is probably a little bit unrealistic."

But he's not saying the Roos won't try.

"We know we have some talented girls and we've also picked up some players from other clubs," Adams said.

"They will be keen and competitive and that's all we can ask for. …
