UNITED by grief, hundreds turned out to bid their final goodbyes to tragic James Thomas Wall.

The popular husband-to-be from Benwell, Newcastle, was laid to rest yesterday following an emotional service at St Robert's Roman Catholic Church in Fenham.

James died at the age of just 21 after losing control of his recentlybought blue BMW 330 on the M1 on January 20.

James' coffin arrived at the church in a black horse-drawn carriage followed by a lengthy procession of cars on Cedar Road.

Mourners lined the street ahead of the service at 12pm.

Wreaths celebrating James' Irish heritage and his love of BMW cars were on display. After the service, the funeral procession moved onto West Road Cemetery.

James died while driving on the M1 in Leicestershire.

The northbound section of the road, between junctions 22 and 23, were closed for approximately six hours after the crash while the cause of the accident was investigated. …
