KIDS don't know they're born these days right? Well at a family-fun event this half term, they might just appreciate their Xboxes and iPads that little bit more!

Ormesby Hall is running a Victorian event so children of today can find out more about the hard work needed to keep the household running.

Children and adults alike will be able to step back in time and become Victorian servants at the Teesside mansion - and you can even make the kids scrub potatoes too.

Youngsters can come along dressed as servants or borrow a costume, but numbers are limited. They will be able to develop an understanding by scrubbing potatoes like a scullery maid and washing the clothes in the laundry.

There are many more activities in the mansion and servants' wing to get involved during the school break.

Leanne Allan, manager at the hall, said: "This February half-term the self-led trail through the house focuses on the different job responsibilities Victorian servants had, by following the trail and experiencing the jobs for themselves. …
