$25M Village Takes Shape; Couple Prepares to Open First Stage of 'Challenging' Bli Bli Town Centre Project

THE first stage of a Coast family's $25 million commercial venture is set to open in coming months.

Construction on the biggest development of Michael and Roz White's careers started at Bli Bli in September last year.

They plan to have Bli Bli Village Town Centre fully completed by June next year, with stage one ready to open by June this year.

"It's a lot of work to get a development of this size done," Mr White said. He moved to the Sunshine Coast in 1990 and started running Night Owl convenience stores in 1993.

From there he moved into IGA supermarket ownership, of which he and his wife now run stores at Bli Bli, Peregian Beach, Mt Coolum and Mooloolah Valley.

They redeveloped the River Markets shopping centre in Bli Bli in 2013, their only other major development.

He said their current development at the intersection of Bli Bli Road and David Low Way was a big risk and very challenging. …
