VICTORIA BECKHAM joked about her public image and love for over-sized sunglasses as she closed London Fashion Week with her new collection. The designer, 43, unveiled her latest Victoria, Victoria Beckham (VVB) line in a PS95 T-shirt emblazoned with the words: "It's a dark but happy place."

She said: "People ask me why am I always wearing sunglasses and this is what I tell them." She also referred to the shirt she wore last year which had "Fashion stole my smile" written on it. "This is me poking fun at myself and I think VVB should always have that element of fun about it," she added. Beckham's lower-priced VVB line serves as a casual counterpart to her mainline offering. Her latest collection was inspired by a trip to the Jean-Michel Basquiat show at the Barbican and features Polaroids of the street artist developed into a print which appeared on loose day dresses and silk shirts. Paperbag-waist tailored trousers, sunbleached oversized denim shirts and butter-soft blanket coats were also highlights. …
