BRODY MacRae got his first novelty golf club when he was three years old.

He wasn't old enough to sign up to the Maroochy River Golf Club's junior academy, but his sister Ellianna was.

That's when the addiction began.

"They just love being out there," their father, David MacRae, said.

This August the brother and sister duo from Peregian Springs is heading to North Carolina to compete in the US kids World Championships at Pinehurst, one of the most prestigious golf opens in the world.

At such a young age, they show a lot of maturity that they have learnt both on and off the green.

Ellianna will tell you her favourite part of golf is having fun and making new friends.

Brody, on the other hand, likes seeing his dad "hit it into the water".

What started off as lessons for the kids quickly developed into a family activity, and the four MacRaes often spend their weekends down at the Maroochy River Golf Course. …
