REVIEW IMAGINE DRAGONS O2 Arena, SE10 rick pearson BEFORE Imagine Dragons took the stage at the O2 last night, a video played, detailing the mystery of life on Earth.

One might argue that it's equally mysterious how these Las Vegans became big enough to sell out two nights at London's biggest arena. While the figures are staggering -- their hit single Radioactive shifted more than 10 million units worldwide -- you sense the band could travel on the Tube without fear of being mobbed. Set opener I Don't Know Why, taken from latest album Evolve, encapsulated all that is good and bad about the band. Namely, it's catchier than the common cold, with all the originality of a photocopier.

For the fans -- young, often accompanied by mum and dad -- much of the appeal seems to lie in frontman Dan Reynolds. Whether speaking about gun control ("how many more shootings?") or his own battles with depression ("you're not alone"), he was the band's political conscience and beating heart. …
