Bocelli: My Sons Were in Awe When I Recorded Sheeran Duet

ANDREA BOCELLI says his sons were in awe when he recorded a duet with Ed Sheeran and he had to rely on them to give him the lowdown on the British singer.

The Italian tenor, 59, revealed Sheeran flew out to his home in Tuscany for the day because he was so keen to make the collaboration work. The pair recorded one track, Perfect, for Sheeran's latest album Divide. Bocelli, whose sons are Amos, 23, and Matteo, 20, told the Standard: "I had heard about him from my children because they are fans of his, so they told me a lot about him. It was Ed's idea actually.

"The strange thing was that he really, really wanted me to sing on that particular song, with an operatic touch to it something that he didn't think was actually feasible. But he was so determined that he came all the way to my house. He came, and we did it."

Bocelli said Sheeran, 27, was humble and did not act like a global superstar. …
