MOTORSPORT: Warwick driver Nathan Locke will swap a Honda Civic for a HQ Holden when he competes in round 1 of the CAMS Motor Racing Championships at Morgan Park Raceway this weekend.

Last weekend, Locke was third in the under two litre, improved production class in the Short Circuit Motor Sport Association Series behind winner Brock Payne, of Brisbane, and runner up Jason O'Mara from Warwick.

He would love to do all four rounds of the short circuit series but one clashes with one of the six rounds of the Holden HQ Series at Willowbank.

Two of the Holden HQ rounds are in Warwick, including one this weekend.

At the weekend, Locke recorded two seconds and six thirds.

"It is all about reliability," Locke said.

O'Mara had one win, five seconds, one fourth and on DNF (did not finish) in his 1973 Datsun 1200 Coupe after winning his class and the overall series in 2017.
