LEADERS Ormesby F and third place Beaumont Accountancy Nomads D both lost points in their bid to win honours in the second division of the Middlesbrough and District Table Tennis League.

In last week's fixtures Ormesby F, who are top of the table, defeated Swerve E by 8-2, with a hat-trick from Chris Gunn.

Anwar Rasoul clinched both of Swerve's victories by beating John McCullow 11-9 in the decider and Keith Lewis by 3-1. McCullow and Lewis won two each for Ormesby and combined to win the doubles.

Third place Nomads D played a 5-5 draw with the team in fourth place Ormesby E. Peter Docherty produced the best results for Nomads D scoring a hat-trick while Issy Doyle did well for Ormesby to beat Sam Hugill and Bruce Lowther.

John Hannaway and Eve Witterick won one each for Ormesby whilst Doyle and Witterick combined to win the doubles. …
