VICTORIOUS head coach Nuno Espirito Santo was "bang out of order" celebrating in front of Tony Pulis following Wolves' dramatic win at the Riverside, according to Neil Maddison.

Ugly scenes marred the end of the visitors' 2-1 victory with stewards having to keep the peace as coaches from both sides clashed.

It appears the flashpoint was Santo's provocative gesture that followed the final whistle.

BBC Tees pundit and former Boro midfielder Maddison spotted the incident and said: "How Tony Pulis has kept his cool there I'll never know in all my life.

"Go and celebrate but, you know what, have a bit of dignity, go along to the opposite bench and just say 'well done Tony, what a cracking game.'.

"And you might not agree with some of the officials and the decisions that have gone against (your team) but have a little bit of class about you.

"To jump in front of that dug out, and right in front of Tony Pulis, and give it the fist pump, and in his face, I'm telling you that is bang out of order and how Tony Pulis kept his cool... if that had been Mick McCarthy he (Santo) would have been flat on his back!

"That, to me, is out of order. Yes run on the pitch, celebrate with your players, I can understand that because he's delighted, but a little bit of intelligence (is needed)."

Sky Sports pundit and former Wolves striker Don Goodman was also disappointed by Santo's behaviour.

"I don't want to be a party pooper but I just wish he had shaken Tony Pulis's hand before he sprinted over the celebrate with his players because that's what we do in this country, that's what we're brought up to do," he said live on television.

"It is an enormous three points but there were things going on on the touchline - I just wish he had shaken Tony Pulis's hand, that's all. …
