MONDAY I arrive at the office early this morning for a prospective purchaser who is interested in viewing an architect-designed Arts & Crafts manor-style property on a great piece of land in Totteridge Lane, N20, that we are marketing on a sole agency. With a price tag of PS15 million it has all the toys, as you would expect, and I hope it ticks all the boxes. I want to oversee this appointment personally -- me and my business partner Stephen Barnett always feel it is a courtesy to both vendor and buyer.

One of the major advantages of living just around the corner from my Real Estates office in Totteridge is that I can have a Cheerios breakfast with my two-year-old daughter Ruby and baby son Samuel, and be at my desk by 8.30am.

TUESDAY Just had a call from an entertainment agent who is desperately looking to rent a well-proportioned, discreetly situated family home in mint condition for an American celebrity client who will be filming at nearby Elstree Studios over the next six months. What have we got to show them? In prime Totteridge, we have the cream of top-notch rental instructions at our fingertips, so the team's busy preparing a portfolio to email across.

Fantastic -- my administrator, Viv, informs the office that the luxury new-build chalet bungalow we were marketing on a sole agency basis a few months ago has just completed. This is particularly good news as this property is located in Radlett, Hertfordshire -- which just goes to prove that an agent does not need to be present in an area to achieve a sale.

WEDNESDAY I can't believe what my senior negotiator Jordan is telling me. Apparently he made an appointment for an elderly couple to view a lovely Grade II-listed apartment in Grange Avenue, N20, where the vendor insisted on showing the property herself. Having met the couple at the door and given them a brief tour, the owner left them to have a leisurely wander on their own, and retired to her TV room. …
