THERE'S no shopping and crowds aren't a problem, which is precisely the reason Warwick woman Cheryl Featherstone has locked in sailing to Antarctica in 2020 for her next travel adventure.

"It's a part of the world I haven't seen yet," Ms Featherstone said.

"I don't think the travel bug ever dies.

"You can tame it and channel it, but the thirst for adventure and experience is always there."

At 19, Ms Featherstone left her home and her family and set off on the adventure of a lifetime.

"I spent six years overseas travelling and working where I could," she said.

"I'd grown up in Paddington in Sydney, surrounded by Greek and Italian families, and I learned about them and their cultures, traditions, religions and food and I wanted to experience much more of that.

Winters were spent working in Switzerland, with any spare time spent on the powdery slopes of St Moritz. …
