Muss Styling Moves Up a Gear

AGATESHEAD business that customises cars for football players and celebrities has received a PS250,000 investment to take on 20 members of staff and expand into County Durham.

Muss Stylings customises car exteriors for TV and sports stars from its Team Valley workshop, but is now planning to establish a design, sales and marketing base in County Durham after receiving cash from the Finance Durham Fund.

The office will be the firm's first base outside Gateshead and will allow it to massively boost its headcount and turnover.

Over the last three weeks, Muss Styling has hired its first three members of staff to work in its sales team, but managing director Jamie Mussett wants to quickly increase the size of the team in the coming months.

Mr Mussett said: "We have started with two members of staff and we have hired a third person, but we are trying to grow that team to 20 people.

"We have nailed the production side of the business and now it's time to push on and drive that."

As well as boosting the firm's sales and marketing team, the cash will also be used to roll out a national car dealership engagement strategy designed to attract new clients.

The firm is also looking to increase the size of its team of wrap technicians. Muss Styling recently hired three new wrap technicians, taking its headcount to 11, but the company plans to increase this to 15 by the end of next month. Mr Mussett added: "We are really excited to expand our offering to provide commercial fleet wrapping, signwriting, commercial signage and graphic design all inhouse. Muss Styling has already established itself as a market leader in professional car wraps, tints and automotive design.

"It is through our team's hard work and dedicated support from partners that we look forward to taking the business to the next level.

"When we started the company, we were told you couldn't do this up here, so we a very proud of our success and overwhelmed with the phenomenal support we've received locally and nationally. …
