YOUNG HAWK TO FLY IN USA; Student Set for Overseas Training Stint

FOOTBALL: He's only 13-years-old but Ky Richardson's football skills are already turning heads.

The Harristown State High School student will head to the United States at the end of August for a three-month training stint with the Temecula Valley Hawks Soccer Club.

Richardson was approached by the Hawks after he impressed one of their coaches during a match for his school.

"We (Harristown State High School) have built up a bit of a relationship with Temecula Valley," Harristown High boys football academy coordinator Mark Burchardt said.

"We've toured there (America) and last year they visited us. They played games in New South Wales and Queensland and Ky was the only player they singled out.

"They asked if he was available to play in a few extra games for them in their O14 side. After that they asked if he'd be interesting in travelling to the US."

Burchardt said the Hawks were impressed by Richardson's attitude as much as his skills. …
