TWO students at Stockton Sixth Form won gold and bronze medals in the British Biology Olympiad, a national competition for 16 to 18-year-olds.

Martin Stoves (ex Ian Ramsey) achieved a Bronze medal and scored within the top 17.9% who entered, and Callum Russell (ex Our Lady and St Bede) achieved a Gold medal and scored within the top 6.7% who entered.

The British Biology Olympiad is a worldwide competition open to only the top-achieving Biology students.

ELEVEN Year 9 and 10 students from Unity City Academy, Middlesbrough, were able to learn from one of the region's most influential businessmen, Bill Scott, CEO of Wilton Engineering Group, during a site visit.

The trip was part of the extensive careers programme at Unity City Academy.

The students toured the Wilton site and were able to see first-hand the opportunities that Wilton has to offer the young people of Teesside.

Following a presentation by Bill Scott on the importance of 'standing out', the students were inspired and determined to be a success and leaders in their fields of choice. …
