Kristiana Manu'a (Giants)

The fact Manu'a was elevated to Diamonds training partner earlier this year, despite not having played a Super Netball game last year due to a ruptured Achilles tendon, speaks to just how highly the young defender is regarded. Manu'a doesn't have the height of some of her peers, but she more than makes up for it with explosivness.

Sarah Klau (Swifts)

Defender Klau will be pivotal to the Swifts' fortunes. Elevated to the Diamonds squad as a training partner last year, the 190cm 23-year-old will need to deliver big time. Klau is one of many youngsters in the Sydney-based team, which could be a surprise packet this season.

Laura Geitz (Firebirds)

Missed last season because of the birth of her first child, but Geitz showed at the Commonwealth Games that she has lost little of her speed and impact during her time out of the game, and she'll be pulling her younger teammates along with her this season.

Caitlin Bassett (Lightning)

Scored 589 goals at an amazing 94 per cent to establish herself as the competition's most accurate shooter in 2017. …
