RUGBY UNION: Queensland's Smith twins have incurred the wrath of coach Brad Thorn and have been dropped for tomorrow's Super Rugby clash against the Sunwolves as punishment for skipping training commitments.

JP and Ruan Smith have been bench weapons for the Reds this year but the South African-born pair weren't considered for selection by Thorn for the Tokyo clash.

Both missed the team's session on the Monday after their win over the Lions at Suncorp Stadium at the start of their bye week.

JP, who started against the Lions, also didn't make a Reds recovery session the day before, while Ruan, who was on the bench, failed to make a clubrelated commitment.

In other changes for the Reds, Jono Lance (concussion) is back at five-eighth with Hamish Stewart moving to fullback which squeezes Aidan Toua onto the bench.

"With Jono back and Hamish playing well in his first start, it felt natural to pick the two of them," Thorn said.
