We Are Living out What the Bible Prophesied

Article excerpt

SECRETLY, many Christians are watching Israel, especially those like me who at times lack the gumption to really reveal my very deep-seated beliefs.

So I appreciate the writings of Robert McBeath "No lasting peace until the Messiah returns" (QT 18/05) and also reading the writings of Andrew Bolt (QT 21/05) who although not claiming to be a Christian tackles topics that are controversial.

I personally heard the claims on TV about the mainly peaceful protests at the border fence to Israel.

At the same time as these views were being aired, I could see the burning of the tyres and the throwing of Molotov cocktails; in fact, anything but peaceful.

I was very aware that even in 1900 in certain Bible commentaries that the prediction of the return of the Jews to their homeland (Ezekiel 36:24) was thought to be an impossibility.

But after the Holocaust (which many deny even though there are still a handful of survivors) on May 17, 1948, for the first time in 2900 years, Israel was a nation once again. And a completely dead language, Hebrew, was reborn.

In about 60 years, Israel has vaulted from not being a nation at all, to being a flourishing First World nation. Israel leads the world in economic, agricultural, financial and technological status.

This was foretold with the symbolism of the figs and the fig tree in Jeremiah 24: 2-4.

We are living out what I read in the Bible. How can I not believe. There is no alternative.
