Looking Forward to a Fresh Start on the Council

Article excerpt

THANK goodness that common sense will prevail next week and the councillors will have no control over the council.

I, as an Ipswich ratepayer, believe this has happened because we have lost trust in the council and that is why the government will step in and appoint an administrator.

I don't care about developing Springfield. I do hope they finish the Ipswich Mall. I care about my local park being maintained and my bins being removed.

Hopefully the recycle bin will be recycled. I do feel sorry for council employees being stuck in the middle of this mess.

We need new blood and hopefully the current councillors will not be able to stand again for re-election or we will be right back where we started.

I pray that the new councillors will have the guts to go to the bottom of the "too hard basket" and remember they work for the people in their electorate and not for themselves.

While the OPEC nations have felt the pinch while the price of oil was lower, they are now reducing production so they can live in billionaires' kingdom.

What do we have to do to get a fair deal? T

he cost of living is becoming prohibitive for small business and families. …
