A story on Page 1 of Wednesday's Shorelines about a 13-story condominium plan that the Jacksonville Beach City Council rejected on Monday gave an incorrect first name for Johnnie Fellabaum, a woman who spoke at the meeting.

JACKSONVILLE BEACH -- The City Council voted unanimously Monday to reject plans for a proposed 13-story condominium at First Street and Fifth Avenue South.

Then the council directed city staff to review the city's definition of building height and suggest a better way to measure it.

The council refused the developer's request to treat the two parcels, which are zoned multi-family residential, as a redevelopment district. The condominium project fails without that approval because it didn't have the side-yard space that the present zoning requires for a building taller than 35 feet. And the city does not grant height variances.

Councilman Fland Sharp warned that the city's present definition on building height could present similar problems with 40 other developable lots. The council agreed and approved Sharp's motion for the city manager to study the building height issue. …
