Dear Call Box: The Florida Times-Union recently ran a story about state agencies telling HMOs to pay claims on time. The story never gave a contact for a Florida agency I could call to complain about an HMO. -- R.E.

Dear R.E. The Agency for Health Care Administration's Bureau of Managed Health Care is the agency that handles complaints about commercial HMOs. The bureau also monitors the quality of care services provided through prepaid health clinics, Medicaid HMO contracts, workers compensation managed care arrangements and exclusive provider organizations.

The agency's Information Center has a hot line that will give you access to the Bureau of Managed Health Care as well as other units within the agency. Call 1-888-419-3456.

Dear Call Box: Which is correct, Phillips Highway or Philips Highway? I've seen it spelled both ways on street signs, businesses and in documents. -- L.K.
