ALFA Romeo's most sporting SUV, the awesome 180mph range-topping Stelvio Quadrifoglio has taken to the roads, pushing prices up to PS69,500.

The Italian firm is claiming that its new Stelvio Quadrifoglio sets a new benchmark in the premium midsize SUV segment with a combination of awe-inspiring design, performance and technology.

The flagship Quadrifoglio is powered by a 2.9-litre V6 Bi-Turbo petrol engine, combined with an all-wheel drive system to offer a potent mix of performance, traction, driving dynamics and safety.

The engine achieves maximum power of 510bhp at 6,500rpm and maximum torque of 600Nm from 2,500 to 5,000rpm.

Mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission, it reaches 60mph from rest in just 3.8 seconds with a top speed nudging 180mph.

Standard specification on the Quadrifoglio includes distinctive 20-inch alloy wheels with specifically profiled wheel arches, restyled rear diffuser, sports exhaust with four outlets and bi-xenon LED headlamps. Inside are a leather dashboard and door tops, leather and Alcantara seats, leather steering wheel, carbon fibre trim and stainless steel pedals.

The centre of the dashboard is dominated by an 8.8-inch Alfa Connect infotainment system, with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto to replicate the smartphone environment on the on-board display.

Safety stuff includes advanced autonomous emergency braking, lane departure warning, blind spot monitoring, integrated braking system, forward collision warning and a rear-view camera with guide lines. There is also chassis domain control, active torque vectoring, active suspension system and Alfa DNA Pro with race mode.

The Stelvio Quadrifoglio costs from PS69,500, which is about PS35,000 more than the rear wheel drive entry model. Four trim levels are available on models in the range, comprising Stelvio, Super, Speciale and a limited adition Milano Edizione.
