ON THE FIELD

Play of the day: On third-and-3 from the Titans 3 with a minute remaining, Jaguars QB Mark Brunell threw a fade pass to the left rear corner of the end zone to WR Keenan McCardell. The ball floated short of McCardell, and Titans CB Samari Rolle intercepted, securing the victory.

Catch of the day: With 1:30 remaining in the third quarter, the Jaguars trailed 7-3 and QB Mark Brunell scrambled left on second-and-9 from the Titans 11. As he reached the sideline, he threw to WR Keenan McCardell in the end zone. The ball sailed over McCardell to WR Jimmy Smith, who bobbled it before catching it for a 10-7 lead.

Run of the day: Midway through the first quarter, Jaguars RB James Stewart broke through a huge hole in the middle and veered to his left, eventually being run out of bounds after a 40 yard-gain. The play set up the only score of the first half, a field goal by Mike Hollis.

Hit of the day: Anything by the Titans on Brunell. He was not sacked, but he was under an intense rush throughout the game, and was hit after too many throws.

Block of the day: It came early in the first quarter, and many Jaguars thought it was a dirty play. On the play, Jaguars DT Renaldo Wynn beat Titans G Scott Sanderson, who dove on Wynn's ankle. Wynn suffered an ankle sprain, but no penalty was called.

Player of the game: Titans CB Samari Rolle, a second-year player from Florida State, only made one big play but it was the play of the game. His interception of a fade pass from Brunell to McCardell secured the victory and gave the Titans the early AFC Central lead.

Injury report: Jaguars DT Renaldo Wynn suffered a sprained ankle in the second quarter and did not return. ... WR Reggie Barlow suffered a concussion in the third quarter and did not return.
