THE North East Business Awards are the biggest and best of their kind - and we want as many businesses as possible to be involved. Held in association with the North East England Chamber of Commerce, our annual awards event shines a light on companies large and small, and reminds us that the North East is a great place to live, work and do business.

They toast success, celebrate achievement and highlight successful and innovative businesses doing fantastic things right here in the North East.

Almost 2,000 people attend the four awards ceremonies across the region and they are completely free to enter!

We need you, the businesses of the region, to get actively engaged in the awards so we're looking for as many nominations as possible to ensure the competition remains as truly representative of what is happening in our business community as ever.

Entries over the last two years have been more than 20% up on the previous levels - but we want more, and want to hear from companies who have achieved and are achieving great things.

Vicki McGregor, sales and marketing manager for Merit, winner of last year's coveted Company of the Year trophy, said taking part in the contest has served up a boost for the business.

She said: "Merit has been part of the North East business landscape for a number of years now. Taking home the Company of the Year award in 2018 was such an achievement and we were so proud to have been recognised for this accolade.

"The awards' entry process is easy to follow - from completing the awards submission to the judging process - it was all a pleasure!

"The recognition we have gained from participating in the process means that we have raised our profile in the region and of course we also get the chance to regularly mention that we were awarded North East Company of the Year. …
