NEW BACKFIELD

Position competition has reached further into the backfield for the Florida Gators. Junior Rod Frazier replaces sophomore Rob Roberts at fullback, and junior Bo Carroll replaces sophomore Robert Gillespie at tailback. All four will play considerably Saturday. Gillespie had two 100-yard games since replacing injured starter Earnest Graham, and Carroll had a 100-yard game two weeks ago at Auburn. "He's showing better patience in the backfield," UF running backs coach Buddy Teevens said of Carroll. "He's running big. He's not a huge guy. That aggressive style of running, combined with his speed and quickness, we really think he's an eye-opener." Graham has been cleared to play Saturday, and Teevens said UF has four tailbacks ready, including redshirt freshman Chuck Marks of Albany, Ga.

BACK TOGETHER

WR Travis Taylor was limited in work two weeks ago against Auburn while returning from a high ankle sprain. He'll be full-go against Georgia, but WR Darrell Jackson, who has stepped up big in Taylor's absence, was hobbling in practice yesterday. …
