MURDER detectives have focused on an area around a Middlesbrough cash machine where a missing woman's bank card was last used.

Naheed Khan has not been seen since the May Bank Holiday last year and police now believe the Thornaby grandmother has come to serious harm.

It is not thought the 43-year-old would have left the country.

Cleveland Police are focusing on the area close to a cash machine outside Adils Pizzeria on the junction between Marton Road and Southfield Road.

The force has released a detailed timeline of her possible movements in Middlesbrough town centre with an appeal for dashcam footage from the area.

Door-to-door inquiries were carried out and the senior officer leading the case, Detective Chief Superintendent Jon Green spoke with reporters.

"We have carried out extensive CCTV enquiries and I would like to appeal to people who may have driven along any of the routes in the timeline and check dashcam footage," said Det Chief Supt Green.

"I would like to thank those who have given us information so far, we have had calls from the public following Monday's press conference but I would encourage others to think about the suffering of Naheed's family and give us the vital piece of the jigsaw that would give her loved ones the closure that they so desperately need."

He said he has seen firsthand the devastation faced by her loved ones.

"She was part of a close family, she's got a daughter and a granddaughter that she hasn't seen, very very sadly," he said. …
