NISSAN has introduced a new limited-edition version of its North East-made Qashqai that appears to be a bargain buy, thanks to additional equipment.

Taking the name of Qashqai N-Motion, it is based on the midrange N-Connecta model but gets a lot of additional equipment for a small additional fee.

The buyer gets extra stuff that the company values at PS1,205 for a increase of just PS300, so it appears to be a PS705 saving.

However, as is always the case with special editions, it is only a bargain if you would have added these items to the standard vehicle anyway, otherwise you are paying for equipment that you may not actually want. From Nissan's point of view it makes sound financial sense because they have created a more desirable product to increase sales by adding kit that costs them nothing like the quoted full retail price.

In the case of the N-Motion model the price rises to PS25,345 in comparison to PS25,045 for the standard N-Connecta model with its Glass Roof Pack.

The newcomer is, however, a good buy for those who really want the extra bits, which include silver bumper plates front and rear, matching door mirror caps and roof rails, plus LED headlamps with adaptive front lighting.

There are also unique new 19-inch Ibiscus alloy wheels and optional gun metallic paint that normally costs PS575 alone. Inside there is a premium makeover courtesy of the redesigned front seats, which now feature burnt orange inserts on the bolsters with matching stitching across the whole seat. Complementary stitching has also been added to the knee pads on either side of the gear selector surround, as well as on the front door trim and top of the storage area between the front seats. It is also replicated on the four individual floor mats that are ambitiously described as "sports-style". …
